Job Overview
Job Purpose:
The Client is looking for a Manager who will lead, develop and maintain the Strategic Analysis & Planning team to enable the Services senior leadership teams to deliver our Services Strategy to ensure that the Met Office is recognised as a global leader in weather and climate science and services in our changing world. Manage the development of strategic insights for the Services Director and the Head of Services Transformation, to ensure cohesion of narratives (negotiating where necessary) and plans for the Directorate and plans which are robust to future scenarios. Insights to come from internal (Corporate & other Directorate plans) and external sources (such as other National Met Services, academia, suppliers and other service provider organisations).
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of all planning and monitoring processes and requirements for the Services directorate, including the development and construction of the Services strategic plan, associated performance metrics and risk management.
- Be an active member of the various Services senior leadership teams supporting the implementation of the Services strategy.
- Lead complex root cause analysis reviews, make recommendations and lead resolutions as and when required.
- Working with comms and change, be fully involved in the onward communication of the Services Strategy and performance stats, including leading discussions, reports where necessary.
- Lead the strategic analysis to create solutions for the Services SLT to improve business capability in 3 years plus.
